After 10 years of rumors, failed negotiations, trash talk, confrontations…friendly basketball games? (LOL), one of the biggest fights in the last several years will take place May 1st pitting Shane Mosley up against none other than Floyd Mayweather. This fight in some ways came as a “Next Best Thing” scenario as the proposed mega fight between both Pacquiao and Mayweather came crashing down due to Floyd’s insisting of Olympic drug testing which Pacquiao’s team refused (some what) and Andre Berto pulling out of the January 30th fight with Shane Mosley due to the family he lost in the tragedy in Haiti.
Both fighters have been on a collision course for close to ten years when both fighters were fighting at Featherweight and Lightweight. While Mosley climbed the ranks a little sooner winning fights against Oscar De La Hoya from jumping from Lightweight to Welterweight and going on to fight at 154lbs, Mayweather dominated the Featherweight and Lightweight divisions before making his claim as the #1 fighter in the world calling everyone out from Mosley to Oscar to Winky Wright.
