Night of the Living Dead Being Remade with CGI?
September 16, 2009Ironically I caught the original on the other day on IFC (love that channel!). The recent “Dead” movies that have been dropping have been complete ass for the most part.

The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision Blog reports that Night of the Living Dead is being remade as a 3D CGI origin story and without the involvement of George A. Romero.
Titled Night of the Living Dead: Origins, the re-imagining is being directed by newcomer Zebediah de Soto and produced by Simon West and Simon West Productions president Jib Polhemus.
De Soto, who wrote the script with David R. Schwartz, wants to update the tale partially by bringing out the characters’ backstories and make what he called “an American-style anime.”

In the film, Sam (Donahue) is a pretty college sophomore, so desperate to earn some cash for a deposit on an apartment that she accepts a babysitting job even after she finds out there is no baby. Mr. and Mrs. Ulman (Noonan and Woronov) are the older couple who lure Sam out to their creeky Victorian mansion deep in the woods, just in time for a total lunar eclipse. Megan (Gerwig) is Sam’s best friend, who gives her a ride out to the house, and reluctantly leaves her there despite suspecting that something is amiss. Victor (Bowen) at first seems like just a creepy guy lurking around the house, but quickly makes it clear that Sam will end this night in a bloodyfight for her life…
