[...] The first Heat player to ever get the honor, Alonzo Mourning had his jersey number retired a couple days ago when the Heat played the Majic. It was an emotional ceremoney that brought many to tears, including Alonzo himself. Alonzo Mourning has been such a great contributor to the Miami Heat and to South Florida community and he deserves every bit of honor and praise that comes to him. He was and is the soul of the Miami Heat. And he’s one of those people you meet that just are whole heartedly a great person. We definitely wish Alonzo much more success in whatever he does and want to thank him for his long lasting impression and implant that he has left to South Florida.
