I can remember vividly in high school when I would see the “Drama Kids” going ape shit over this movie like it was the most incredible piece of cinema they’d ever seen. It was the quintessential movie to see if you were getting into Drama / Acting in high school. I never got the point of the movie but that it’s an insane asylum for drama kings queens who take in a couple on their honeymoon and are treated to 2 hours of music and sex (not that it’s a bad thing). Don’t get me wrong, I actually tried watching it…but i guess it’s just not my thing.
But anycase, the wonderful crew at MTV announced that they’re working on remaking the musical which should air for Halloween 2009. They’ve stated they’d be keeping the original screenplay with Lou Adler producing. If you thought the Star Wars geeks were bad (yea…I’m one of them too), I can only imagine what we’re going to see next year.
