Freddie Prinze Jr Joining WWE??

July 31, 2008

Well…in a creative way. Freddie Prinze Jr has joined the WWE’s creative team and was introduced to everyone at last Monday’s Raw and Saturday Night’s Main Event taping. If you’re wondering what creative team means, it’s a group of people who create the storylines for the shows WWE airs on a weekly basis. Next to wrestling, writing the storylines is one of the most crucial parts of Pro Wrestling. I’m definitely looking forward to what Freddie’s got planned…after all, He’s Puerto Rican ;)

Venom Coming to the Big Screen…On His Own?

July 31, 2008

Marvel’s really trying to shut shit down aren’t they? Word is Sony is in the development stages of bringing Spidey’s arch nemesis Venom to the big screen after his less than spectacular outing in Spiderman 3. It’s kinda crazy though considering Venom is a villain and would need some type of counterpart to go against him (Carnage?). Sony also stated they’re working on bringing Spidey 4 by 2011 (with or without Toby).

Anyone know how much a Marvel stock runs for?

First Look at the New Wolfman

July 30, 2008

Benicio De Torro is playing the iconic Wolfman in next year’s The Wolfman which also stars Anthony Hopkins. I read about this movie a few years back and thought no one better could fit the Wolfman than Benicio. The film is set to drop April 3, 2009.

Full Synopsis:
Inspired by the classic Universal film that launched a legacy of horror, “The Wolfman” brings the myth of a cursed man back to its iconic origins. Oscar® winner Benicio Del Toro stars as Lawrence Talbot, a haunted nobleman lured back to his family estate after his brother vanishes. Reunited with his estranged father (Oscar® winner Anthony Hopkins), Talbot sets out to find his brother… and discovers a horrifying destiny for himself.

Lawrence Talbot’s childhood ended the night his mother died. After he left the sleepy Victorian hamlet of Blackmoor, he spent decades recovering and trying to forget. But when his brother’s fiancée, Gwen Conliffe (Emily Blunt), tracks him down to help find her missing love, Talbot returns home to join the search. He learns that something with brute strength and insatiable bloodlust has been killing the villagers, and that a suspicious Scotland Yard inspector named Aberline (Hugo Weaving) has come to investigate.

As he pieces together the gory puzzle, he hears of an ancient curse that turns the afflicted into werewolves when the moon is full. Now, if he has any chance at ending the slaughter and protecting the woman he has grown to love, Talbot must destroy the vicious creature in the woods surrounding Blackmoor. But as he hunts for the nightmarish beast, a simple man with a tortured past will uncover a primal side to himself… one he never imagined existed.

The Death of Myspace

July 30, 2008

Honestly, do we even care anymore? Do you remember when you’d log on and be like, “Ohhh yeeaaa…NEW MESSAGE“. Now, those messages don’t consist of words from a long lost friend, someone looking to hook up on the music tip…but more like a flood of ads, group invites, people wanting you to listen to their album…you get the point.

I can remember when Myspace first took off with being able to upload your music and get the exposure most dudes from the 90s could only dream of getting today…and honestly it worked for a while. I was able to meet cats on there that till this day I still work with and have built relationships.

But of course, it was inevitable that the good times would come to an end once people got word of how big a platform Myspace really was. It literally spawned the career of a teenager named Souljah Boy who went on to sell millions of ring tones and had Grandparents doin the Superman (Wow). Not that I’m mad at lil’ homey, Getcha Money ya know, but all it takes is 1 person to create an avalanche of bullshit which we’re experiencing right now.

So as it stands today, Myspace has created a new genre of artists kids as seen below:

W: The Movie (Trailer)

July 30, 2008

Yea, they’re REALLY droppin’ this movie. Josh Brolin will play the lead as our country’s idiot leader with Oliver Stone directing. You know the shit is preppin to hit the fan.

Synopsis: Whether you love him or hate him, there is no question that George W. Bush is one of the most controversial public figures in recent memory. In an unprecedented undertaking, acclaimed director Oliver Stone is bringing the life of our 43rd President to the big screen as only he can. “W.” takes viewers through Bush’s eventful life — his struggles and triumphs, how he found both his wife and his faith, and of course the critical days leading up to Bush’s decision to invade Iraq.

Cheech & Chong Reunite

July 30, 2008

Yup…after a long hiatus the hilarious duo of Cheech & Chong are reuniting and touring the country. Man, I can only imagine the group of people going to see this (I might be one of them lol). If you haven’t had a chance to check out Up In Smoke or Still Smokin…well, some of you might or might not get it…but it’s still worth a watch.

Now that their feud is over, Cheech and Chong are high on plans to reunite for their first comedy tour in more than 25 years.
Cheech Marin told AP Radio that he and Tommy Chong “looked at each other going, ‘If we’re ever going to do something it has to be now because you’re not getting any younger and neither am I.’”
The duo who gained fame for their marijuana humor tossed around some ideas and figured a comedy tour would be “the most fun” and “the least hassle,” the 62-year-old Marin said.
Marin and Chong, who broke up amid creative differences, have tried to reunite before, but have always fought too much. Marin laughed and said: “It takes about 3 minutes for that to happen. There’s this veiled hatred.” But he added: “We’ve kind of resolved that.”
